Iceland Sand Drag Trip

Postby Sebastian Lindau » Sun Jun 30, 2013 12:36 pm

Hi!

Tomorrow I will start a trip to Iceland to visit the race on 06.07. in Akureyri. In my Hotel I got Internet - if the connection is good enough, I will post updates with pictures from time to time beyond the menu item"AKTUELLES" on my website. When I'm back, I will post some pics here too.

Best regards, Sebastian.

Hi!

This is a short message from Iceland. Yesterday I visited my first Sand Drag Race and it was terrific. During the qualification I stand in the wrong direction and because of this a stone hit my collarbone and now it's a bit bruised. But in this way I got a nice souvenir from my first race : ) I will post some pictures when I'm back home. As appetizer is here a video, that someone of the visitors has made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... hTi6Ui4rX8

Best regards, Sebastian.

Yes. He was pretty satisfied with his runs - he drove the highest top Speed of all participants. Somewhat in the 160+ km/h range.

Best regards, Sebastian.

This is by the way a hill for Formula Offroad Races, wich will also been held there (sadly not, as I was there :( ). It's a very big hill, wich goes really straight up - hope it's imaginable through the picture:

I want to take this opportunity to say a big THANKS to everybody, who has made my trip to Iceland become unforgettable. Specially to Einar and the whole Motorsportsclub of Akureyri, Iceland.

Best regards, Sebastian.

Sorry for correcting you Jon, but that's a Porsche not an RX7. Anyway. The Icelandics are crazy people - in a good way. They bring absolutely everything to the line - doesn't matter if it has wheels or not.

Best regards, Sebastian.
