TH400 VS. GLIDE

Postby 588 » Fri Mar 05, 2010 1:02 pm

How much does TH400 weight compare to a glide lets say stock for stock. Now how much hp does a TH400 take to run vs. a glide. I am not sure what combo I want to run in my new ride. I am torn between the to I think I would rather have a glide but I have all the TH400 stuff so what do you guys think. If I run a TH400 it will only be two gears.

TH400 are power robbing mo fo's, but bullet proof if built right. the glides being built now a days are also bullet proof.
I finally figured out how to make a "MILLION BUCKS" Drag Racing, start with "TWO"!!!

I think most of us base our choices on whats available, any of the three can work. as far as Hp loss I don't think you see that much difference out the three if they are comparable to begin with, you can't compare a stock TH400 to a full roller glide of course the glide will have will use less hp
I dyno'd my LS car with both glide & 350 the difference was minimal

I weighed my 400 when I took it out and weighed my glide when i put it in. I have it written down somewhere, but off the top of my head i think the glide was about 40 pounds lighter.

Thanks for all the help. I weighed my 400 and a glide and the 400 was 148lb and the glide was 99lb so i have decided to go with a glide and a 6.00 gear

No not this time, I think i am going to be out of comission this year. I need one of those dam money tree's so i can put my motor back together and finish my new ride. I was talking to my brother and we are thinking that maybe we will hit an NSDA event towrds the end of the year with the new jeep once we get it dialed in. 8-)
