What type of Rear brakes in the sand

Postby pitbull2332 » Mon May 14, 2012 7:56 pm

What type of rear brakes do most run in the sand? My car has a set of wilwod rear ultralite brakes. My car was an asphault car I turned into a sand car. The rear brakes are hanging up, I went to bebuild the calipers and they dont use a standard seal and are for asphault use only. What do most people use in the sand to keep the dirt out? Thanks John
lets all get drunk and wreck stuff!!!!!

I have used the wilwood 4 piston version for over 15 years in the sand with no issues. The 4 piston version does not have to move, so no slides or pins.

You can call the Chassis shop or Richards Autoparts they should be able to get you what you need- I think its the cold stopper or something like that like just tell them your racing in the sand 300' need to be able to stop in short distances they will hook you up.
