GOING RED ON A PRO LIGHT

Postby scoutracer » Wed Jul 16, 2014 6:15 pm

The last two times I have been racing in the pro class, I've gone red (at two different tracks). This has never been a problem before. I stage shallow, no changes to the car. I use a powerglide pro trans brake. I have not tried any new driving style. Any ideas? Thanks

How bad are the redlights?

Which tracks are you at and what type of timing system do they use? It could depend on how they are triggering your time. If they use a guard beam start it would be tougher to redlight than if they use a stage beam start system.

Sometime things that hang on the front of your car (spring shackles, etc) can also be extremely close to the guard beam while your tires are in the stage beam. This can trigger a red as well.
