Nice truck! Looks a lot like my '03. Except shorter! What year is it? I can tell you what to look out for. If I could figure out how, I can email you the FSM for it.

Here's mine.........

It's a 03 bone stock, no signs of ever having any high performance box or abused.

what is a FSM?

Sorry, Factory Service Manual. I have it on my computer. But it's a BIG file. Like over 1000 pages. Very comprehensive.

S.O. 250HP or the H.O. 305HP? There's a sticker on the valve cover if you're not sure. Manual trans or Auto? Sorry. You probably know most of the good and bad about these trucks, but if not, just ask, and I'll help. I like my Dodges.

i actually didn't even look at the HP rating.
the 99 i have pulls the big trailer, the sold 01 just pulled a 26 foot RV to Ionia and/or a 16 foot flat bed trailer to WMSD when we didn't take the car
this truck will do a fine job just as it is replacing the 01's job.

You should be fine. But yeah, if you need anything, just ask. I'll be glad to help. If I can figure out how to send the file, I'll let you know. I love my '03. I've had almost 20,000lbs behind it with no issues (7000lbs gooseneck trailer, and 10 ton of hay).

Good. That's about right. On the highway, I can get about 22mpg if I keep it below 68mph. They seem to get the best between 55 and 68. After that they'll start to drop off a little bit. Back and forth to work, IF/WHEN I drive it, I'll get about 17 or so. Stop and go, 14 miles one way. Mines a 6 speed, with 34" rubber and 3.73 gears. Do you know what gears yours has? There "should" be a sticker inside the glove box that gives the drivetrain specs. It's suppose to have the sticker there, but for some reason, lots of people like to rip them out. I love my truck. Can honestly say I plan on keeping it for a long time. I've had it 4 years now, and that's way longer than almost anything I've ever owned!

Oh yeah, don't trust the overhead "Lie-O-Meter". Always hand calculate your mileage. They tend to read alittle better than actual.
